I purchased this model from China-Hifi a few years back and received a very different sounding piece of equipment. I believe this recent purchase may contain upgraded electronics. It has a much lighter overall sound-much less bass and more mid/treble. It also has a much better, larger sound stage-no small, muffled or cramped sound as previously. I re-tubed it completely: Russian NOS 6N2P-EV x 2 for the preamp, Genalex Gold Lion U77 rectifier and Mullard (new production) EL34 x 2 for the power section. Now it sounds just lovely! Very happy with this purchase.
